Job Description
Associate:
Conduct complex legal investigation and research, providing thorough analysis and reaching appropriate conclusions.
Prepare draft proposals and presentations for more senior team members.
Translate legal documents between English & Chinese.
Draft legal contract and other documents based on template (where available), demonstrating an understanding of the objective and the client requirements.
Draft client communications for review by more senior team members.
Draft routine legal documents e.g. Legal Opinion, Legal Due Diligence Report, Legal Feasibility Analysis, Legal Step Plan etc.
Manage all basic work in a legal case or other form of dispute, including legal investigation, record sorting, regulatory research, research on applicable processes and case or dispute progression tracking.
Senior Associate:
Independently manage common project work, including: client communication, case strategy & negotiation, document preparation, & etc.
Coach associates on their daily work.
Provide solutions to inquiries from associates and clients.
Lead associates to complete legal due diligence investigation and reporting.
Demonstrate good communications with other PwC Lines of Service, including colleagues in PwC Tax.
Requirements
Post qualification. Overseas LLMs or JDs are preferred.
Minimum one years (for associates) or three years (for senior associates) practice experience in at least one of the following:
- Company or contract law,
- Commercial law
- Anti-trust
- Foreign direct investment
- Merger and acquisition
- Capital market, venture capital, or private equity investment
- Employment law,
- Private Client Advice and
- Compliance practice
Holding a recognized legal qualification
English proficiency and familiar with legal terminology and concepts.
Practical, solution orientated approach to problem solving.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Energetic and responsible person with an eye for detail.
A quick learner and team player.
Interest in exposure to international clients and interactions with non-legal professionals in PwC
Keen to master role level and progress up the career path.
